PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Post Graduate Diploma in DNA Forensics is a specially designed flagship program of the National Forensic Sciences Institute to produce the trained manpower required for the increasing demand for DNA analysis in a criminal investigation. The program offers a unique syllabus comprising the actual requirement of forensic laboratories of the nation. The program will be conducted during weekends which will offer an excellent opportunity for existing staff of forensic laboratories to enhance their skill set. The curriculum of the program is crafted considering the current need and the future advancements in DNA Forensics. The practical-oriented syllabus will nurture all the skill sets required for the accurate analysis of biological evidence. This program will also enhance the skills of the existing human resources in various laboratories across the nation. Special emphasis will be given to quality control and quality assurance in DNA Forensics. In addition to the regular practice, dedicated minor research projects will also help in inculcating the research-oriented approach in laboratory procedures. The program will add an important feather essential for the career advancement of the aspirants.

Bachelor’s degree in any Science/ Forensic science/medicine/ Pharmacy with at least 50% for General /OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates, and 45% or equivalent for SC/ST and PwD Category candidates.
