- M.Sc and PhD Biotechnology
- Distinguished Expert and Academic Registrar, UPSIFS, Lucknow
- Senior Research Fellow, Anthropological Survey of India, GOI, Mysore
- Junior Research Fellow, Desert Medicine Research Centre, ICMR, Jodhpur
I have worked in different overlapping fields of human genetics such as molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, population genetics, clinical genetics and forensic genetics. Major objective of my doctoral thesis work was to localize the gene and identify the genotypic and phenotypic markers associated with obesity and related metabolic disease susceptibility.
- I have worked as government certified Forensic DNA analyst/expert under 293 CrPC at Center for DNA fingerprinting and Diagnostics for 12 years. Analyzed and reported more than 400 cases as reporting officer which includes some of the prominent cases from the agencies CBI, NIA, CID etc and deposed evidence as DNA expert in several cases all over the country.

- “In 18 years of research and work experience, I had worked in different overlapping fields of human genetics such as biomedical genetics, population genetics and forensic genetics. Major objective of my doctoral thesis work was to localize the gene and identify the genotypic and phenotypic markers associated with disease susceptibility. My research contributions were mainly “identification of biomarkers and their assessment” so that they can be used to develop improved diagnostic tool and lead to new therapeutic interventions. I have studied the role of various adipocytokines with special reference to leptin for their association with obesity and related pathologies. I have also identified genetic factors in few adipokine genes and factors in their biochemical pathways which regulate their production and may affect various pathophysiological states, one of which is obesity.
